to do or not

Hi,

I am an indian, 35 years of age. i want to do a course in nursing from US for the purpose of becoming a nurse and staying here itself for job thereafter. I was a science student back in year 1996 and understand that i might have to take entrance exams all over to get admission. I have checked out some schools online in San Francisco but before i jump headlong into it, I would like to know if its going to be wise to start this career at this late an age and will i be able to get a work visa upon completion of a LVN course and subsequent exam.

As you can see i am pretty confused, all the replies are appreciated............thanks in advance for your help

You will get a work visa with LPN because you won't. Minimum requirements for H1b is BSN. Plus with current job situation both in CA as well as the US with many US nurses struggling to find work it will be hard to find a employer willing to go the H1b route due the $$$$ it will cost them.

Realistically at the moment if doing your nurse training in the US you are still looking at having to return home after completion of OPT unless you maintain your student status. If looking at a immigrant visa after completion you are still looking at over 10 year wait and can not stay in the US whilst waiting for immigrant visa PD to become current.
