I'll be graduating in May but I want to start applying to hospitals in the NYC area as soon as possible. When do the area hospitals start posting positions for new grads? Im interested in pediatrics at NYP, LIJ, etc.

I also graduate in May and have been doing some research into this. As far as I have been able to tell, the only places that really hire before passing the NCLEX are NYP and NYU, both of which run new grad residencies. I spoke to NYU and they told me to apply in April for a May graduation date (you also must have above a 3.5 cumulative GPA). I am not sure about NYP; I know they run new grad events that you can apply for on their website but not sure when they post them.

LIJ you must pass the NCLEX before applying, and they start programs in July and October (they have other start dates as well, I just remember these because they most closely align with my graduation dates).
