ADN or BSN

Hello my name is Erwin and I was wondering if someone can give some insights to this conundrum that I have. I have a BS in Information Systems, I am actually a Systems Engineer/Administrator, but I want to do nursing. I have a good job that pays me close to 77K a year...but I want to do nursing as a part time thing, so my question is Do I get a ADN or BSN? any help would be appreciated. thank you in advance and god bless. :-)

There are many threads on this topic that you might find of assistance.

Since you already ha a BSN you might look into accelerated BSN programs. It would be quicker than obtaining an ADN but it is quite intense. Best wishes.

It also depends on the job market where you live -- and what type of job you want. In some places, ADN's are having a very hard time finding employment and have to settle for the jobs that other people don't want, if they find something at all. In other regions, that is not case. You have to find out what the truth is in your area.

Also ... either way ... understand that if you want lots of opportunities in the future, it will probably require you to get a BSN someday -- regardless of where you live and what you want as a first nursing job.
