Mount St. Mary College - Prospective Nursing Transfer Student (BSN)

Hi All! If I could receive your help and knowledge regarding this thread, that would mean so much to me! Thank you. (Sorry this is lengthy in advance, I just want to give a good background as possible!!)

Currently, I attend at UC campus that does not offer a Nursing or Pre-Nursing program. I am in the Honors program and am majoring in Environmental Science with a social science emphasis. This means that it is more of a "soft core" science and does not have to deal with the hard aspects of science series like Organic Chemistry or the Biology series as a prerequisite to my major; I mostly have to take social science classes to fill these Upper Division requirements. My college GPA is a 3.69 and I am involved with 2 other clubs on campus, though not so actively the Honors Program. In high school, I graduated with a GPA of 4.2 and took about 10 AP classes through my high school career. I did a lot of volunteer service and was in a performing arts program for all of high school. After graduating, I went to a UC very unsure of what I would be majoring in, just picking whatever tickled my fancy. I am generally a well-rounded person when it comes to studying subject (except math) and am a fast and adept learner.

But recently, I just found out that I will not be receiving a Cal Grant that helped pay off my Tuition for school. With this financial dilemma in mind, I am really considering withdrawing from my UC school and going into a community college, like I should have in the first place. Not only is it cheaper, but closer to my hometown where I am currently staying with my single mom and brother.

I also have reconsidered my interests and what major I want to go into and I found that nursing best suited to my strengths in science and compassion for helping people. Not to mention that my aunt and uncle have benefitted a very comfortable lifestyle due to the financial stability that this job offers. (Environmental Science felt more of an intense interest rather than a formidable career in the future). I believe that I am ready for stress and irregular working ours, and I feel like I would be able to gain tolerance to bodily fluids and associations.

So with withdrawing in mind and going to probably attend a CC, I was wondering what would be my chances of getting accepted into Mount Saint Mary College in Los Angeles under the Nursing Major or even Pre-Nursing major (BSN). Even though I would not necessarily graduate in 4 years, I am willing to be a Transfer Bachelor of Science Nursing. Is it harder to get accepted as either Direct-to Nursing or Pre-Nursing or vice versa?

I have heard different things saying that getting in as a transfer is really hard and it's super tough to be accepted. Any word of advice or help that I could get?
