Hi, I'm currently a CNA and wish one day to be a RN. I would like to hear what people have to say about LVN's Schools around Reseda, CA. I'm planning to start school for LVN, but would like to go to a nice affordable school and still have some time to work.

I've heard about Casa Loma that it's good, but can be expensive. I've heard Marian College is a good too. Annenberg, College of Nursing and tech., Concorde, Kaplan, Valley School of Allied Health...

I would like to know if Preferred College of Nursing in Van Nuys is good?

Also the schools: tuition fees, what the schedule is like, teachers, what places are the clinicals done at?

I completed the LVN program at Casa Loma College back in 2005. Back then, the program was $19,995. Today, I am sure tuition is well over $30,000.

I personally would not attend an overpriced private school since the local nursing job market is bad. Look into cheaper alternatives, such as the North Valley Regional Occupational Center.

The Commuter., thank you for commenting. I think Casa Loma its too expensive, but people say its good.

I went to Career Care in Ventura as I was living out there at the time. The commuter is right. The job market for LVN's does not suffice going to an over priced private school. My program was about $22,000 in 2011 and is now close to $30,000 I am sure. Finding a job as an LVN is not only hard but as a new grad it's even worse. It's just how it is now. Think about it. These schools are pumping out new grads by the hundreds but there aren't enough jobs? I had medical experience and I'm like a bull in a china shop, so I am not your typical case. Look at all of the posts here and learn from them.

My main goal is to be a RN, but I already went to Community College for Prerequisites and got C in Anatomy and Physiology, Micro. I think my GPA in Science is low and that's what they look at. So Ive decided to go to LVN School now and later RN, but Im deciding on what school

I re took Physiology and Micro, im thinking og talking to a counselor and see if its possible to erase those grades and start from scratch, but right now all I see is taking the LVN path.

My old clinical instructor used to teach there and she said that the new president is terrible. I go to Charter in Canyon Country. I like it. It's a decent school. It is very expensive. $37,000. But I was able to get grants so that brought it down to $29,000. Charter has a tuition match program. They'll match every dollar you give them towards the private loan you take out with them. My private loan is $9,700. So I am taking money out of my savings to take advantage of this. When I graduate, I will have $20,000 in federal loans. Also, if you graduate "on time", meaning you don't fail any terms, they'll give you a check for $1,000.

I went into into this knowing that finding a job will be very hard. This is a gamble I'm taking but I'm hoping it will pay off. Best of luck to you :)

Yes I hear that too that the president is terrible, but then other people say that Cassa Loma is good. I know most of the Lvn Schools are expensive now. I wish you the best of luck in your nursing career. Thaank you for sharing :)

Yea I hear that recent graduates from LVN school have a hard time finding a job, because they have no medical experience. Proff.'s say that there are jobs out there somewhere, but you have to really search. At the place where I currently work they've hired people without experience ( CNA's, LVN's, and RN's), but they say going straight to RN is better, because they can administer IV's and do more.

I Know nursing school and jobs is going to be a competition, but gotta take risk in order to reach our goals
