hey Zel-yu

hi noski, i inquired at medcare. and the staff told me that they have several locations across america,.. just like other staffing. so i guess whatever state you live, there's probably near location for you. i did submit my application thru fax.

Thanks, i will contact them tomorrow morning

I too just recently heard of MedCare Alliance and am curious if any other nurses out there have experience working their flu shot clinics? Since the company website didn't note the flu shot opportunities, I called the company to apply. I was told that the pay is $20.00 per hour and nurses only give shots, as they are hiring admin. assts to each clinic. I am emailing my resume to them today, and I hope to hear how other nurses experiences are with them through the hiring process, etc.:nurse:

$20/hr? Is that for RN or LPN? :mad:I spoke with Mr. Cowans and he told me that MedCare will pay RNs about $25/hour. I am still waiting for them to release the schedules (time and location) before they can give us the training. I hope this one also works, along with some known immunization staffing agencies.

The $20/hr must be for LPN, because Mr. Cowans asked me which I was before telling me the hourly wage. I'm in the process of completing the hiring paperwork. I too hope this works out.

can anybody tell me how the process of application works? does anyone hear from them already regarding the application?

I called Medcare's phone number on their website on the 'Medcare Flu' page. I spoke with their representative, Mr. Cowans, who asked me to fax my resume. After this, I received an email requesting more hiring/license documents. I faxed those in 08/10. A few days later, I called to see when the next step would be, and I received an email with training, checklists to fill out and a test to return. That was on 8/15, and I have not heard a thing since. I am going to contact them today to see what if anything they still need, and if scheduling is underway yet. I'd be curious to know what other nurses experiences have been throughout the hiring process, too!

Well, I am planning to apply for this position. I think it would be a good opportunity to make some extra money. Granted, for most of us that are seasoned nurses, $23-$25 is not a lot of money, but if you think about it, the job is not difficult and i would imagine that there would be minimal stress.

I am also applying to Medcare, thanks for all the info!

Ok guys, once again, I keep trying to call Medcare and no one calls back, any ideas? I have done all of the paperwork, thanks!

I too have gone through all the paperwork and training, and I cannot get a response from them regarding scheduling as well. I am thinking nothing may come from this company this season, but if I hear of anything, I will let you know.
