tell me what school. I have interviewed for all of them each is differant. strong gpa important for all. diverse backround important for u of d. strong gpa and clinical experience for u of m. good luck.

i applied to um-flint and oakland/beaumont. i recently got accepted into the um-flint program. they had a long interview. i took a clinical test, had a panel interview, and was interviewed by a CRNA while in the OR. they asked the general array of questions...what are my strengths/weaknesses, motivation, why do I want to be a CRNA, why should they choose me...all the clinical questions were covered by the test and while in the OR.

my stats include:

GPA 3.87

GRE verbal 510, quant 700, writing 4.5

10 months SICU experience

Hi Maize&blue, I asked this question weeks ago without a reply, so I went to my interview raw without any clue what would happen. I only knew that I would be interviewed, I didn't know about the quiz, nor did I know about the trip to the OR. I must have been interviewed the same day that you did, I was accepted also! Congratulations! I am hoping every SRNA in our group will be supportive of one another as I think our work is cut out for us! Good luck again!

sek,

Congratulations!! I'll be seeing you next fall.

Here's a question for anyone accepted into anesthesia school. How are you preparing academically and financially? What are some tips to getting a headstart before classes begin?

Thanks.

In the first semester, two of the classes that are required for the U of M program are the endocrine system and the renal system, I have pulled out my pathophysiology book and began to review those systems, so I will be better prepared for the class. Financially, I have been saving money for over a year now. We can make it off my husbands income, but it will be tight. I plan to apply for student loans after January 1st, 2004 to help pay for my classes. I am currently seeking scholarships, which will help.I guess that I will do whatever it takes to achieve my success. You know the old saying, it takes money to make money. The money is not the most important thing though, I have worked in the OR, and I know what to expect, that job combines my experiences, and I know that I will absolutely love it. What are you doing to prepare for the program? Any advice?
