Pre-Nursing classes were a year ago! HELP!

My school requires you to take 3 pre-nursing classes before you are able to apply to the BSN program. I took these classes a year ago (one was a communication course, another was about care plans, the last was skills and fundamentals) and I did not apply to the program because I hadn't had micro and was afraid to take micro with clinicals and nursing courses. The next semester (this past Spring) I applied and did not get in..so this semester I have been taking gpa boosters..etc. It has been discouraging to say the least but I applied the semester with confidence and am praying that I will be accepted. One problem..I feel so out of the loop..unprepared..scared..etc. I have not practiced any skills or refreshed myself on the material I learned a year ago. What can I do to prepare for nursing school? In clincals will I be required to just do those skills right off the bat or will I have time to practice them on my own before asked to do them on a pt? I just can't afford to fail out due to the fact that I have taken the extremely long route of nursing school! Should I study of Christmas break?? HELP!

Approach the instructor of the courses and ask if you can sit in the back as an (unpaying) auditor for your own good. As long as you don't participate and get in the way, they should not mind. Otherwise, you will have to repeat the courses or pick up the books and do your own review. Good luck getting in.

Do you still have your books? If so go over skills in BNS book and careplans in your book from that class. You should do okay with just a little review.
