anybody in houston

We're gettin out of here as soon as I graduate (won't be until may of 05, but i'm a planner :D and would like to get my ducks in a row). Can anybody recommend any good hospitals or even hospitals to STAY AWAY from? I'm going to be in that area later this year to check out which areas we'd like to move to and what hospitals are like there, but thought maybe someone out there could give me a heads up b4 we go.

thanks! :kiss

Are you going to be living close to downtown Houston?? The reason I ask is because Houston is a very big city with several smaller cities and communities around it. It could take you an hour (not during rush hour) to get from one side of the city to the other side of the city, if in rush hour it could take several hours! The Texas Children's Hospital is an excellent hospital. They have a website you can go to for more info about it. But like I said there are good hospitals all around there, you just need to find out where you are going to be living so you don't have a looong commute.

we'll i'm pretty familiar with spring and humble and would actually be willing to travel all the way from galveston. i'm not that worried about traffic. if i can handle hurricane traffic outta NOLA, then I think I can handle rush hour traffic. i'm more interested in which are the best hospitals to work for and those to definitely stay away from, then we'll decide where we'd like to buy another house.

I'm in Houston. And I hope to work for either The Methodist Hospital (in the medical center) or Clear Lake Regional (in a suburb). But there are so many opportunities in the Texas Medical Center: Texas Children's (pediatrics), St Luke's (Heart Institute), Hermann (specializes in critical care, I think; operates life flight), MD Anderson (cancer), Ben Taub, Women's, not to mention the many hospitals in the suburbs. Good luck in your search!

Thanx, Tam...appreciate the input. I've heard alot about Hermann, Ben Taub and Children's, but that's about it. Guess I've got alot of researching to do within the next year or so.
