Updating the resume

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about some books that I could find for updating my resume/cover letter. Right as of now my old one is not getting me anywhere. Especially since I would like to go into med/surg. I'm coming out of the LTC field(I've been an LPN for 4 years). I have only had my RN license for over a month and have had no success in getting my foot in the door at the hospitals that I have applied too. I am not great at doing resume/cover letters....but I know that I need it because everywhere I want to apply or have is requiring one. I am really getting frustrated at not even getting a call...well lets change that I got two call backs and not in the area(s) that I'm interested in anymore (LTC and MRDD population). It's time for me to move on and I have one other hospital that I'm interested in applying to but want to update my resume before I hand anything in. Thanks for all your help/advice in advance. Hope everyone has a Healthy and Happy New Year! :smiley_aa
