Hi- I graduated from the PCC RN program 15 years ago (time REALLY flies) so I cant comment on wait times now. I can tell you that we got a good education. The instructors we had then are probably long gone, but I bet a lot of us will remember Dr Latham and Mrs Munoz. They were great. Good luck to you.

It took me a year (2 semesters) to get into the program. This was however before the lottery system. Most of the professors are pretty good, but you can't really expect too much because they can't cover everything, but they try their best. So you will be spending a lot of time reading and learning on your own, but that pretty much goes for a lot of different places. I used to work pretty close to full time my first year, but I quit my job last year so that I can focus on school. I would suggest maybe just working part time. For the first year you're at school about three days a week and at clinical maybe two or so.

Are there any evening classes? My work schedule is 8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday.

no there are no evening classes. is it possible for you to cut back on your hours. going to nursing school is a full time job within itself. you have to dedicate a lot of you time to it.

I just graduated from Mt. SAC, I had to wait 2 semesters after I put in my application. But this was a while ago, and now they have the lottery, so I'm not sure how long its going to take now. Sorry.

According to the Advisors, there is a 2 semester wait. :typing

I took a refresher course at Mt.SAC awhile back and really got a lot of use out of the drop-in skills lab. At my original nursing school, skills lab was only at a few scheduled times so you could only practice on your own otherwise. At the Mt.SAC skills lab, there were lots of practice supplies and resources and a licensed nurse on hand for assistance or check-offs.

I applied to Mt. Sac's program Nov. 2007. I got accepted into the Sept. 08 class but I was already in an LVN program. So, that makes it a 2 semester wait time. Now I'm graduating from the LVN program and they contacted me again last week. I am in again for the Feb 09 class, but starting fresh. So it took me 3 semesters to get in. As an LVN, it would take me 3-4 years to get into the Bridge program and then start in 2nd semester (that's what the Nursing Dept. told me). So I opted to just do the 1st semester of their program (even though I don't have to) because it's the only way I can finish faster. Besides, I already have 11 1/2 months of LVN training under my belt, so it should be a piece of cake...!!!
