Retaking Prereqs - Need Advice

I have to retake Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry because, of the current 5 or 7 year recency rules in certain nursing programs. The last time I took these classes was in the late 1990's. I wanted to know if any of you can give me advice.

1. Do colleges and/or ADN/BSN nursing programs average out the grades for these classes or take the most recent grade?

2. I may go the LVN-BSN route. Will I still need to retake these classes? If so, again are these averaged or do they take the most recent grade in these programs?

3. Anyone know of any ADN/BSN/LVN-BSN nursing programs which do not have a recency rule? BTW, I am in California.
