hi! im a fresh graduate from the philippines and i just took the local board exams... while waiting for the result (which I heard will be out on july or august.. sigh!) im trying to review for nclex.. i need advice on where to get the nclex since I have a tourist visa in U.S. and what are the requirements for nclex anyway? i really need help! thanks in advance!

hi pyerac! we're exactly in the same situation...im in manila waiting for the results too with the US visa and all. maybe we could help each other. Will u be reviewing for the nclex here or in the US? i quite know the procedures to apply for NCLEX but it actually varies from state to state, i only have for cali.

if you have computer at home you can print the application form and mail it. You can choice NEWYORK, CALIFORNIA, MARYLAND, AND TAKE WHERE EVER YOU WANNA TAKE THE NCLEX. I THINK HAWAII , GUAM IS CLOSE TO HOME AND CHEAPER FLIGHT FOR TICKET.good luck sa inyo and MABUHAY filipino nurses. Welcome to america.........

i did applied in california but i took my nclex here in the colorado and endorsed it here. (passed on lpn and taken my rn this july). i hope, you can download the application and just follow the instructions.. you can do it now b'coz its takes a long months for processing for approval. let me know and good luck.

applicants must take the national council licensure examination (nclex-rn) if they have never taken and passed or been licensed as a registered nurse in another state. all applicants must have completed an educational program meeting all california requirements. if you are lacking any educational requirements, you must successfully complete an approved course prior to taking the examination.

all applicants must provide the following:

appropriate fees.

completed application for licensure by examination.

completed fingerprints using either the live scan process or the applicant fingerprint card (hard card) processing method as directed in the instructions for submitting fingerprint cards. submit the appropriate nonrefundable total fee as directed on the application fee schedule.

one recent 2" x 2" passport-type photograph.

completed request for accommodation of disabilities form(s), if applicable.

request for transcript form(s) completed and forwarded directly from the nursing school(s) with certified transcripts.

if applicable, documents and/or letters explaining prior convictions or disciplinary action and attesting to your rehabilitation as directed in section ii of the general information and instructions.

in addition for international graduates:

a. send breakdown of educational program for international nursing programs form to your school with the request for transcript form. also provide the certified english translation form to your certified translator if your transcript is not in english. (see supplemental application instructions for international graduates.)

b. submit a copy of your license or diploma that allows you to practice professional nursing in the country where you were educated. if you do not hold a license, a written explanation is required. also, provide copies of your certificates for midwifery and psychiatric nursing, if applicable.

I'm a Filipina RN born & raised in the USA, & my cousin is in the Philippines who's an RN now wants to try to work here in the USA. For some states (you need to check which specifications the state where you wish to work require), you need both a passing score for the CGFNS (I think that's what they call the over-seas exam) & the TOEFL. Some states require just the CGFNS, so check first. Then, I BELIEVE they are doing the testing actually IN the Philippines, check the website of NCSBN (the national council of state boards of nursing) for further information.
