Hi everyone!

I'm from the philippines. I just graduated from the university in October of last year-2006 and took the Nursing Licensure Examination last month (December 2006). Yesterday, the result of the test was released and by God's grace, I am now a registered nurse. My next plan is to take the NCLEX or CGFNS. Is there an organization offering scholarship for the NCLEX or CGFNS for Filipinos? The review fee is around $600 plus I don't know yet how much the testing fee costs. And I also need to go to HongKong to take the NCLEX as we don't have the test here in the Philippines.

Please help me, I need some advice on which one to do first so I can get a Nursing Job in the USA.

I want to finish all the required tests to apply for a Legitimate Nursing Job in the USA but these tests seem to be very expensive.

I hope someone could give me some information about my query.

There are not any scholarships for the exams. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that you need to take a review course, you just graduated and need only one book to prepare for the exam with.

The only way that you will get someone to pay for your exam is to sign a contract with an agency that will take about $10,000 per year for each year that you work.

Thank you for that infornation. But it's really different here in the Philippines, we have a lot of "nurse for the USA" recruiters here and they charge so much. My neighbor, who is now a nurse in New York, paid around $3,000 for the placement fee, and I can't produce such amount.

I would love to sign a contract to have my NCLEX sponsored and maybe $10,000 deduction per year wouldn't matter anymore when I get a sure and LEGITIMATE NURSING job in a US hospital.

Where can I find these LEGITIMATE agencies online?

Sorry, but to have $20,000 to $30,000 taken from you over the length of the contract is not a good thing to get an exam paid for. And there should never be a placement fee paid, your neighbor got the royal screw as we call it. To pay 20% of your salary or even more, is not a smart move.......

You are going to have to do some research on your own........and please be very careful, or you will get burned badly.

And your neighbor is working at a nursing home or for an unscrupulous agency as no hospitals in NY are doing any petitioning right now. And the agencies there that are do not guarantee work.

It is not any different in the Philippines than any other country, there are those that will take advantage of you, and those that will not. Unfortunately, they seem to congregate over there.

Scholarship means something paid for you that you do not pay for, it just does not exist. You will be paying big time for it, if you do it the way that you want. I am unable to help you with that as I do not like to see nurses taken advantage of.
