Gov't job as a nurse

Ineed some advice

I've posted here before and the advice is very valuable to me here.

I have a degree in business mgmg. However, I am looking to leave the IT world.

MY ultimate goal is to get a job that is a state or gov't job ( I love the benefits and retirement pension as well..these are my main reasons)

However, I know nursing has a shortage, anyone here has a state job as a nurse?

My aunt works as an LPN for the state and loves it (although you can make more in an hospital)

I plan to to get into higher ed and teach nursing
