hi, i'm a new lvn - almost a 1 1/2yrs. at this now and i will be moving to maryland from texas in june 2006. my problem is i can't find any info. online about what the pay rate is. i currently work for an agency full time with peds. homehealth, i have 4 months experience in med-surg. and i have nursing home exp. of 10 months. can anyone give any advice or know what these areas pay? all info. and suggestions welcomed.

Although I am not a nurse yet (BSN Student), I work at a regional medical center in Maryland as a Patient Care Technician. At the hospital where I work, LPN's start @ around $15.00/hour before any differentials, etc (without any experience). However, you will make probably $25.00 at a nursing home. I live on the Eastern Shore where the COL is not very high, so if you are moving to Baltimore or Annapolis, the rate of pay will be higher due to the higher COL.

What part of Maryland are you looking at? The salaries vary widely throughout the state. So does cost of living.

thanks for the info arbys1595. i actually work for an agency doing pediactric homehealth for patients on ventilators and i was sort of looking in that direction, then maybe parttime at a hospital doing med surg. we are looking at crofton, columbia, and annapolis area at this time. good luck with school. anyone else with advice? all is welcomed.
