Base Pay North Carolina and Virginia

I am a nurse in California and was thinking of relocating to either North Carolina or Southern Virginia and I was wondering what the base pay is for nurses over there. I would like to compare the cost of living to the hourly pay rate. I was looking at real estate in NC and couldn't believe how cheap the houses are compared to Cali.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm a new graduate and I interviewed at several places. Southern VA I've found the avg base for new grads to be approx $17. Northern NC, where I've accepted a position, it is approx $19-20. With experience I know it would be more...my CNA experience even raised my starting salary estimate at 1 of the facilities. There are also shift diffs at each of the facilities, ranging from $3-5 more an hour for evening or night shifts...some even offer $10 more an hour to work weekends. Hope this helps
