I'm new here and having a bit of trouble deciding if nursing is right for me. I graduated 3 months ago from University with a biology degree with a 3.5 gpa. I was initially planning on going onto the PA route, I had some shadowing hours under my belt but besides that I have nothing and the reason for this is because I found out about PA school during my senior year of college. Now I know I have to work about 1,000 in direct patient care. I was enrolled in the EMT basic program and I hated it. I absolutely hated it! I would literally come home everyday and cry so I decided not to do that anymore. Now I'm leaning towards nursing because just that whole idea of 1,000 hours is stressing me out. I don't want any of you to think that I'm only wanting to do nursing because of that reason. I truly do want to help people and I've always enjoyed the hospital environment. I'm just a confused soul. I'm thinking about doing CNA for the time being just to get the feel of it and hopefully apply to the ABSN program next year. I just have a few more pre-reqs to finish. Can anyone please give me any advice and if any of you were in the same boat as me? Please I'm so confused about my life right now! Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get every detail out there.
