New Grad, Hopkins

I am a new grad (May '16!) interested in working for Hopkins (main or Bayview). I graduated from a local community college with my ADN. I hear that Hopkins has an excellent internship (residency) program and would like to apply for it. Do I need to be working toward my BSN to get hired? Do they make you sign a contract? I'm wondering if anyone who was hired with an ADN had this experience.

Thank you for your help.

Hello I was wondering if you had any luck with your job search? I'm in the same boat but I graduate in December. I'm RN to BSN enrolled already though but still will be job searching with ADN. I have seen Hopkins hire people from my ADN program that are BSN enrolled

I think your BSN enrollment will be very helpful.

From what I can tell Mercy does not hire many new grads (but they do have an OR internship in the Fall). Sinai, Northwest have very few new grad opportunities. Medstar has some but they are also snatched up quickly.

Hopkins, Hopkins Bayview have the most that explicitly state interest in new grads. I know Union in Elkton hired some classmates.

My advice? Apply before you graduate, take your NCLEX asap and send your resume around to many, many places. It's difficult for an ADN but I think persistence will pay off.
