correcting hypocalcemia before hypomag

Hi all. Here is a scenario I encountered. Pt had hypocalcemia and hypomag. One MD wrote an order for Ca and Mg replacement. Later it turned out the Mg replacement was canceled. I've been searching all over and cannot find the reason. I should have asked but wanted to be proactive and research myself. Thanks in advanced.

What was the mag level on labs?

I forgot the value, I want to say around 1.0x. In this case pt was going to need dialysis d/t onset renal failure.

For that, I would contact the provider and ask directly.
