WSIB not doing their job?

Published

Hi my name is Jackie. I am a nurse with an Ontario company and have a concern related to all nurses in this province.

I realize that not everyone has had a problem with WSIB but some are not as fortunate.

If you have suffered a work related injury and are not being treated fairly by WSIB or are working while injured we would appreciate your help. If you would send your name and story in confidence to [email protected] we will add it to a Petition with many others. The more names the louder our voice.

When we have enough names we will inform you of further actions.

The past becomes the future if we don't right the wrongs together. Your job is to help others. WSIB was put in place to protect you. If they aren't doing their job something can and must be done about it.

My questions to you are: why would you go to a job that has high risk of injury if there is nobody that will help you if you do happen to become injured? Is that one of the reasons Ontario nurses are becoming disenchanted with their jobs or are leaving to work elsewhere?

Sincerely, Jackie Sax

You need to identify yourself more. I am not comfortable in giving a perfect stranger personal and confidential medical information.

My name is Jackie Sax and I work as an RN Ontario just north of Toronto. I don't feel it is necessary to have any of your medical information. I myself and and many others that have delt with WSIB in the past have been treated unfairly or worse. I have started collecting names and NOT medical stories but WSIB stories of adjudicators acting in bad faith, items going missing from files, being lied to, unnecessary mental anguish, being forced back to work when your doctor states it is too soon, etc. I am collecting these names and stories via email which will be printed and organized. At the time that we have enough names for further action each person on the list may further explain their situation or not as they see fit. WSIB was put in place to protect injured workers. That is not what is taking place. There are ways to make sure a company is doing its job even if it is a government company. We are the only ones that can do that by fighting back. There are several options on how to deal with this problem but it depends largely on how many names I can collect.

Sincerely,

Jackie
