Will my previous knowledge help me with trying to become a nurse?

I am a CNA/HHA, Phlebotomist and I am certified in 12 lead EKG...I start my pre-req's in January 2011 for nursing...and I wanted to know if any of this will help me?...I mean,I know it will a little bit,but will I find the pre-req courses easier versus someone without any type of training or medical knowledge that will be taking these classes?

Specializes in CNA.

Your prerequisits courses will not be noticeably easier.

However, once you are in the nursing program, you will find your previous experience extremely helpful!

Someone in my class had a previous Biology BS degree and works in a hospital (I believe as a very hands on CNA in an emergency department. She's stuggling as much as everyone else in Anatomy and Physiology. Maybe it will help in actual nursing school though...
