Hi everyone!
I just need a little advice to steer me in the right direction.
A little background: I have a BSN, currently working in a Level 1 Trauma Center ED (5 months), worked at a smaller community hospital ED (4 months), and have been a home health nurse for a little over a year.
Right out of school, I "knew" I wanted to be an ER RN. After being in an ER for almost 10 months now, I'm not sure I'm going in the right direction because I don't love it as much as I thought I would. During school though, I've had a HUGE interest and loved my experience in Women's Health/OB. I feel as though I have a bigger purpose being in women's health. I'm thinking about going back to school to become an NP and I'm thinking WHNP/CNM.
I guess I just wanted to know if applying to WHNP schools without OB experience will hinder my chances in getting accepted? Or if I will be at a complete disadvantage because I only have ER & home health experience?
Thank you in advance!
