Hello all,
I just received my packet today and registered to take my NCLEX-RN. I haven't scheduled the date yet because I don't know how long to give myself before taking it. I graduated 12/15/2007 and I start my job on 1/9/08. I was thinking of scheduling to test at the end of January or first week of February. Does that sound reasonable? I don't want too much time to pass after graduating because all that info is still fresh in my head!
Thanks!

You never feel prepared for this test. I would suggest not to wait too long after you graduate. Everything will be fresh right after you graduate. I graduated in August. I took long break, vacation and travelled asia. I came back and had to take care of personal stuffs. I got serious to study in mid November and actually studied seriously from december 1st only. I have been studying, living and sleeping with my laptop and 7 NCLEX book. I have studied crazy this 27 days. Now, tomorrow is my test and I wished I had taken test right after graduation in september when everything was fresh in my mind and then take vacation. I would say do not delay than mid february.

I graduated December 13th, took Kaplan on December 20th, took NCLEX on December 26th, and passed on December 27th. I recommend not waiting too long. I prepared by doing the KAPLAN q bank and attending their class. I think they do an excellent job of preparing you for the NCLEX. I think I did a total of 2500 to 3000 NCLEX questions total. I think this is the key. I wanted to get the NCLEX out of the way before I started my job so that I could concentrate on learning and doing the best job I could do without having to worry about the NCLEX. THat is just my personal preference. Also know that appointments fill up pretty quickly with Pearson, but you can go on every night and check cancellations and there are plenty of them, but you have to keep checking. I don't know if this helps you or not, but good luck!
Thank you! I will definitely schedule it sooner rather than later.
Off to do Kaplan questions........
