What to wear on interview

Question for NS grads -

What did you wear on your interview?? I have my first interview with a hospital next week and I can't decide on what to wear. My previous job experience was corporate/insurance environment. so I have a nice navy blue business suit.

I don't currently work at this facility, so I don't know if showing up in scrubs would go over to well.

Thanks,

Okay...now I see a bunch of old threads with this same question.

I always wear a suit. A suit says, "This interview is important to me and I know how to dress for important occasions." This is also important if you want people to believe you are potential management material. I also do a little recon before the interview to make sure this is okay to do. (ask someone who works there--one or two people I can trust.)

Dress shoes (if okay to wear in the environment) and a good bag/purse are also important for women. I always bring along a portfolio (leather or leather like) with a notepad and pen for notes during the interview.

I really had fun on my interview for my current job. I knew they would hire me if I interviewed, so I found a beautiful deep red suit and wore it with a black and red silk scarf I had bought for another interview with the black purse and portfolio. My hair and makeup really turned out well, too.

One of my classmates actually said, "I can't believe she's wearing THAT." as I walked by. I just strolled by and said to some folks within earshot, "Well, I can wear what I want when I know I've got the job."

Chalk it up to years of interviewing experience. It ain't braggin' if it's true! ;->
