What are some tips in being more assertive and confident?

Hi everyone, I just started an LVN-ADN bridge program this year. Our LVNs joined the 2nd year ADN students this fall semester and last week was our first day of clinical rotations in the med-surg unit of a hospital.

The 2nd year ADNs, those that have had no prior medical experience and have completed one year of nursing school, seem to be on top of things. Great training and motivation to go out and get things done on the floor with their assigned patients and charge nurses.

As an LVN that has been out of the nursing home environment for 4 years and never worked in the hospital, I feel that I'm a little lost in being assertive and getting the most out of my experience.

What are other students' experiences getting through these these clinical jitters?
