What to do in between...

I have a little dilemma and need some suggestions!

I graduate in December with my BSN (yay!) and as a graduation present my dad is letting me go to Europe to travel for about a month or so. The thing is that the tour isn't until May and lasts from May to late June. This leaves January, February, March and April in the dark as far as what I should do with my time!

I'm afraid that I probably won't be able to have a "real job" until July, which is unfortunate but going to Europe is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I have been wanting to do for a long time. What are your suggestions?! Thanks!

Personally, I'd forego the trip and be pounding the pavement looking for a job unless your dad's going to help subsidize you. Maybe it's different in your neck of the woods but in these parts, new-grad jobs are tough to come by and very competitive.

By waiting you'll now be competing with a whole new batch of grads.

I'd give it some deep, deep thought.

If your heart is set on it then I'd consider taking some additional classes in the meantime. How 'bout a foreign language, or an advanced pharm or patho class, or an EKG class? Maybe look at some certs like ACLS/PALS/NRP etc.

For sure I would study and study to keep myself fresh.
