What school to go to?

What 12 month lpn programs does the community recommend in the DMV

UDC was decent and is 12 months. All prerecs are included in the program. However their program is a non credit program. Total time is actually slightly more than 12 months and more like 14 months. They have a challange test you complete before you can sit for the nclex. They have day and evening classes. Day is 12 months 8-2 and evening is something like 5-10 for 15 months. I actually went during the day. Let me know if you need any other info.

When you say non credit does that mean when I try to take classes to become a RN I'll have no credits? How much does the program cost?

Most schools offer a method to challange some of the classes thru the transition courses. The school was 7,000 when I went there. You pay in increments and I brought my books online and tried to buy as least as possiable at the school it self. I chose UDC becasue I felt they had a more decent reputation. I did not want to go to a trade school, because some in DC have really bad reputations. I did not want to wait until I finished all the precs and then apply for a program and hope I get in. I have almost completed all of my precs but have been able to start earning more money while I continue to achive my goal of becoming an RN. I do see where some have been able to get into the RN program and then test out for their LPN after the 1st year. Which would be great if you have all the precs, and could get in to a program.
