Hello,
I would like to basicaly find out what more I could be doing/learning to increase my knowledge for nursing. I'm currently going for an associates degree in nursing. I have my EMT-B license and also have a supervisory certificate and CNA license. I've taken all of my pre-req classes and also have a lot of other health realted classes (med term, Phlebotomy, etc). I currently work as a PCW (personal care worker) and have a lot of skill from this job. We work with sever handicap clients. We do med passes, G-Tube feedings, Straight caths, insulin shots, and also general CNA cares (ROM, Daily cares, Etc.) I will also specialize in ICU or ER and would like to eventually work as a flight nurse.
I already am volunteering at some local stuff (food banks and looking into red cross). What I would like to know is there anything else I can take for classes or do to increase my nursing skills. I am currently waiting to get into my core courses for nursing school (next fall ).
P.S. I'm a guy by the way, not that it's a huge deal now days.
