3 weeks down, 10 to go!

I am on my first assignment and really enjoying it, but it is alot harder than I thought it would be. People are nice, but some are not so willing to help a traveler. I am in the OR and I was surprised that the doctors have been pretty nice. A few techs have given me grief, but oh well. I am a little paranoid about doing paperwork wrong, but that paranoia is keeping me on my toes.

I really am enjoying the diversity that I am being exposed to and seeing how things are done differently from my facility I am used to. This is a great way to learn and see new things-I would recommend it. I am very adventurous and outgoing, but I don't know that I would continue to do it regularly-I don't know if I like always being 'the new person'. Kudos to you guys who make that switch every 13 weeks!! I am really enjoying reading the posts here-thanks!!

PS-My recruiter has been great and my paychecks have been right-yeah!!

Hello, can I ask which company you're with? Have you ever traveled with a group (2-4) friends? I'm contemplating traveling, just doing some research first.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi-

This is the first time I have travelled. I am with Medical Express, and my recruiter has been great. I went by myself, but it is nice because there are 2 other travellers in my dept. right now, so we have that in common and I am not the only person having to be oriented to the unit.

I took the housing subsidy and found an apt. with a short term lease right next to the hospital, so it is very convenient and I make out with a little extra income as well. So far it is going well. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Thanks for the information, and sorry I read your post too quickly, and missed the: "I am on my first assignment" :p

Over the next few months I will collect information and make what I hope is an informed decision as to which agency, city, etc.

Take care!
