Waiting - Tips and Advice Needed

Hey everyone! I graduated with my ADN this May and passed my NCLEX in June. Since then I have applied to at least 100+ jobs and I have yet to hear back on any of them. I worked as an LPN in LTC and I had the worst experience possible (both with facility management and staff) which ultimately led me to quit the position not too long after starting. My whole LPN experience has made me extremely hesitant to apply to a lot of LTC locations. I know this may sound like me being biased but I really love geriatric nursing so it's not that aspect or being too "good" to work in LTC but I am terrified to have the same experience again (although it did teach me one major tip, do research on the facility you apply for before accepting any position. First hand experiences there can make all the difference and be an eye opener, something I learned too late). I know many of you will say if I can't do LTC then I may be SOL in the current economy, and I do agree I am cutting my chance field down. I just wanted everyone's opinion or thoughts on my situation..

I've been accepted into my BSN program for this coming spring and it will wrap up in the fall. While I am waiting to start I have been job hunting and finishing up a minor in nutrition education (which will hopefully make me a little more competitive in the long run) along with volunteering at the local food bank and some other local organizations. My big question is should I just keep doing what I am doing hoping something will come along and keep pumping my resume with volunteer experience? (Any suggestions on how to find MEDICAL/NURSING volunteer opportunities?)

I am also questioning the idea of working out of my current state but I know licensure must be transferred, so is applying to different locations okay and then switching your license over if you get a job or how all does this work? Any suggestions on areas to look into?

Another thought, anyone have any websites they use online to even find out about jobs? I have mostly been going to local hospital websites and using the typical sites like Monster etc.

I am not feeling jaded and know that there are so many other new graduates in my position and I am attempting to make the best of the situation. I am extremely thankful that I have to ability to finish up school and have the luxury to not be starving to death without current employment. I'm not afraid to work and work hard for what I want so I am open to anything. Thanks for listening everyone and I look forward to your replies.
