Vocera

So I like to write songs. I just finished one that I've been writing the last two days. I won't post the actual song as the main thread or the YouTube link b/c I don't want to violate the no self-promotion thing but I'm SUPER proud of this one so I wanted to post the lyrics. I hope a couple of you get a good chuckle!! I think a lot of us can relate!

Vocera

[verse 1]

Vocera, Call King Arthur...

Inside isolation, alarms start to sound,

Vocera half-buried, the gown wrapped around.

I try to call my friend—my plea goes astray,

But Markle picks up from a kingdom away.

[chorus]

Vocera, Vocera—hear my call;

Wrong ward, wrong royal, wrong damn hall.

Need Arthur now—IVs, please;

I'm drowning in prompts and corporate sleaze.

[verse 2]

Vocera set a reminder

I beg for reminders, but loops never end,

YES! YES! TEN THIRTY! it cuts off again.

At last I hear Arthur, his voice calm and kind,

A recording, not real, just a ghost left behind.

[chorus]

Vocera, Vocera—hear my call;

Wrong ward, wrong royal, wrong damn hall.

Need Arthur now—IVs, please;

I'm drowning in prompts and corporate sleaze.

[bridge]

A patient breaks free,

the door's locked tight,

I scream for the team,

but no name is right.

The patient rages and roars,

IVs start to sway,

BROADCAST TO THE FLOOR!!

but I don't know the name...

[chorus]

Vocera—connect me now;

Fists fly, IVs crash—KAPOW!

Wrong call, wrong hall—don't stall.

I'm pinned between the bed and this damned wall.

VOCERA! VOCERA!

[rest]

[outro]

I crawl from the room, my scrubs torn and sore,

Vocera still asks if I'd like to try more.

Arthur just nods at my busted-up face,

Smoke break, he says, let's get out of this place.

He says to me: You don't have to say Vocera before every command, you know. It's not Alexa.
