Visual Stimulation in NICU

Hello! I have a question for NICU nurses regarding visual stimulation in your NICUs. I have recently heard some contradicting stories from many NICU therapists and nurses and am eager to hear what you all have to say....

In your NICUs, what type of visual stimulation do you offer for your babies? Specifically, do many of your NICU's encourage the use of black and white objects/toys OR do you discourage it due to overstimulation. What advice do you offer parents and caregivers when working with a baby who demonstrates a lot of gaze aversion?

thanks!!!

Depends on the baby and the situation. We have PT/OT and they have bring in stuff depending on the needs of the baby. Usually it is black and white, and mobiles.
