I was wondering if I could start getting my Hep B series before my titers test? Does anyone know if getting vaccinations soon before will affect the test? Please and Thank You! :)

Did you check with the nursing department.I think they should give a better idea to have it sooner or not.

I am going to stop in on Monday and ask, just thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone knew...lol

Nurseboat you can get hep b shots and tetorifice shot before titers, they said only mmr needs to be tested before booster.

Thanks TLC.

Did u make arrangements to get them.Where do u plan to get them?

pcp,local health dept,etc.

how much does it cost for everything?

plz let me know if u find anything.

Thanks for sharing again.

Nurseboat,

I am going to my PCP after finding out they cover everything for me. I called the Wayne county health dept. and they no longer will take anybody with insurance, if you don't have any then the shots are $ 10.00 apiece.

You have to have titers drawn for rubella, mumps, rubeola, and varicella even if you get the shots because they want the lab values. So it was recommended to me to have them drawn first to see if i need a booster.

I was given a form from the nursing dean for Midwest Clinic in Dearborn and they give a discount to hfcc students with the form given. They charge $25.00 for basic physical, $54.00 for mmr titer, and 60.00 for vaccine, $20.00 for varicella titer, and no price given for vaccine, tdap vaccine is 60.00, hep b is $60.00 per shot x3, TB skin test $15.00 once every year (so I wouldn't get that early).

Lastly is the drug test $20.00 she said it has to be done at the clinic but everything else we can do where we choose. So that's $374.00 if you get everything at the clinic. They also recommend meningococcal immunization too, but not required $100.00.

Hope this helps, I wish they would have let us know sooner though because I have to have everything done by June 11th. Luckily the nurses at my pcp are squeezing me in tomorrow(when I called they said I would have to wait a month for an appt.) so I can get the ball rolling on all of this! phew here we go!

Thanks for the information TLC.

You are sure having luck for which you got appointment with pcp the next day.
