Hi everyone!
I'm a BSN student going into my senior year this fall, and was recently offered a position as a VALOR student at my local VA hospital. The application/interview process was pretty rigorous, and they only had 2 spots open, so needless to say I was shocked to receive an offer!
Is there anyone here who has gone through the VALOR program? If so, any tips/advice, etc., would be greatly appreciated :)

I was a VALOR and it is a great opportunity. I learned a lot and that experience has served me well throughout the years. Congratulations. Be proud of yourself.
Now years later, I am looking into joining the Army Nurse Corps ))))!!!!
What unit are you going to be working on?

Good for you, that's fantastic!!
I think I'll be working either general med/surg or telemetry.
I'm very excited to start -- glad to know you enjoyed the experience :)
Both will be great places to work )))!!! Enjoy!!!

Hey! I did it over the summer last year and up until I graduated in May. It was great! I would suggest trying to spend the most time in the type of unit you want to work in and getting to know the people that work there. I should be starting work soon as an RN on the unit I spent the most time on (the ER). Good luck!

Could you give me advice on the interview process? Questions asked?

I was accepted into the VALOR program for this year, I was selected 1 of 2 positions out of 20 applicants. I have not started yet and am very nervous as to what I am actually going to be doing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
