Hello fellow Nurses. I am in a bit of a dilemma here and I am looking for as much information I can get to hopefully reach the a decision that would make the most sense. I am currently an on-call LVN at KP in Norcal and I have already started the enrollment process for the LVN-BSN program with Nightingale. That program is set to start May 2022. I was set to go this path until about 3 weeks ago when I heard back from a position that I applied for at my local VA clinic. They have already submitted me for selection, but their onboarding process takes a couple of months at least, so I have time to think and weigh my options. I've been reading a lot of good educational benefits offered by the VA to their employees, including 100% tuition assistance among others. They also have something called VANEEP where you get to stay home and focus on school while still getting paid! Does anyone here know if VANEEP participants can enroll into any nursing schools including private ones? Or is it only with community colleges and universities?
Should I stay with my original plan or give VA a chance?
Any information, input, advise would be highly appreciated. TIA!
