VA Hiring Process

Hello nurses. I was wondering if anyone out there has advice on the VA hiring process. I filled out an application and received a NOR stating that my application was reviewed and forwarded to the hiring manager. That was on 2/1/2017. I have not heard anything back yet. I emailed the HR contact and was told that my application was sent to the "Service" and it was probably still with them. I was also told that the position had not been filled yet. I asked if interviews had been conducted and was told that not likely but HR is not always updated. My jobs status remains reviewed but no determination made yet. Should I just give up at this point. I applied for this position early January.
