I have not tried a VA contract yet. May in the future. Know an ER nurse who has done several and is currently on an Island in the Caribbean. Met her while in Denver. She reports pros and cons. Currently the pros win out for her. When I am more flexible with my travel needs I will definitely look into it more.

I know a TON of people that work with the VA Travel Corps as well as regular agencies that hold Federal Contracts. The VA system is great, just be prepared to wait a long time for them to process your credentialing.

I havent worked in a VA hospital, but I did at an Army Medical Center and yea be prepared for some frustration in dealing with the P85 form needed to get military clearance. Especially if you've had any "bumps" in the road with legal troubles.
Already work in the system but not travel, wanting to transfer to travel. IS the work still steady at this time> The recruiter would not say yes or no. Like is this FT work or PT with lots of downtime. Anyone answer?
