Hi,
I have been accepted to UVA's CNL program but I have not accepted yet. I am married and have 3 kids. I was wondering what type of weekly time commitment is required in the program. I have only talked to single CNL students at UVA and they have said they spend anywhere from 40 to 60 hours a week on class/study/clinicals. I know of other students in BSN programs who are able to work 2 part time job, study, go to class and do clinicals. Is the 40 to 60 hours a week really accurate? I would like to get the perspective of someone with a family that is in or has gone through the program. Also, what other advice do you have for people about to go through the program?
Thanks

Jimva,
Congratulations! I've also been accepted to UVAs CNL program. I've accepted the offer and will be moving to C'ville soon. I am also married have an 18m daughter. Like you, I will be juggling family and school. You have some very good questions. I hope you get some responses, I'm curious as well.

If you've already gotten into that program, ask the admin there to put you in touch with current CNLs that have families (I'm sure there are 2 or 3). They'll be able to tell you about the hours and juggling family. :nuke:

hey guys.
I'm currently in the UVA CNL program (class of 2008).
I am a single mother with a 6 year old little girl - she was 4 when I began school. I would love to answer any questions that you might have about the program. Please PM me and I will address each question individually!
I am the only parent in my class.....
The class of 2009 has a few mom's too.....
its manageable but stressful and hectic....
If you have your heart set on nursing, you CAN DO IT!
It's been a hard road for me but I'm almost finished -
I am a Fuld Fellow so I received a generous scholarship, the only way I could afford to attend.
I'm so ready to graduate!
Look forward to hearing from you guys!
PM me if you still have UVA CNL questions!
