UCLA-any comments?

Published

I'm contemplating on a job offer from UCLA. Any comments about this facility? The benefits looks great. My concern is the pay which is $3.00/hr lower than what I get now but the overall compensation package plus benefits of UCLA looks better and more stable. Any thoughts from you guys be appreciated! Thanks!

I just accepted a job as a new grad at UCLA

The facility is WONDERFUL, have you taken a tour/talked to some RN's, etc? If not I would recommend it.

I have worked there for a year and a half as a CNA during nursing school, I finished up school in Dec, and am starting there as a new grad Feb 15th.

I definately recommend it. The benefits are the "best on the west coast" and if you like a teaching hospital (residents, interns, etc) it will be a great place for you to learn a LOT. :) They also stick to the ratios (med/surg 1:5, tele 1:4, peds is 1:3 99% of the time but sometimes its 1:4)

I was thinking about starting at Kaiser, which pays new grads more, but you have to look at the whole package.

What area would you be starting at in UCLA? Are you a new grad?

Good luck in your decision!

OH...is this the Westwood facility or the Harbor-UCLA one? The one I am referring to is the one in Westwood
