Topics for Project??

Hello all,

I have to do a topic of interest in the area of med-surg, respiratory or urology. I need help in picking a topic. Once I finally decide on a topic I can start diving in....I was really looking for a topic which I could have good visuals on.. Any ideas appreciated...

How about a project on prevention of VAP - which is Ventilator assisted pneumonia. It is something many hospitals are participating nationwide. And if they aren't, they should. By doing simple things such as HOB at 30 degrees, Oral mouth care q4, teeth brushing q 8, subglottic suctioning q4 and turning q2 has drastically decreased VAP. There are a LOT of statistics and studies out there now. Or you could also think about prevention of line sepsis. Which is another hot topic. At our hospital we use the Biopatch along with chlorhexidine scrubs. Good luck. Hoped I helped a little.
