I also took the net exam two times. I scored the same for the reading a 48 the problem is that there isn't enough time. Anyway, there is hope a friend of mine was accepted to there spring 2010 program she scored a 52 in the reading, and mid 90's in math and ended up with a 74%, during her interview they told her that their more concerned with the people who score below a 48 in reading. In order to produce a 70% score with a 48 in reading is to score in the high 90's on the math. Work harder on math and don't get less than a 93. By the way what was you score for math both times? Don't be discouraged just take it again, and again if you have to don't give up, "determination" if you want it bad enough you will get it... I will be taking it again in April or May they haven't set a date yet...
I got 87% in Math the first time, and the second time 90%. is there any hope. I studied so much to pass my reading part.I bough two books and study like crazy, and practice the reading part, but like you said, the bottom line is that there isn't much time for so many questions. I am hopping a miracle and to be accepted but I also want to do the exam again but I am very broke $ wise.
I have a question, on the exam, the ladies at the testing center keeps saying answer the ones you can.. so what about the questions we can't finish on the reading part because of lack of time. Is it better if we leave them blank ? or just guess with the ones we don't have time to finish?? that is what I want to know.
And also they said, that they just take into consideration the right answers,, so how is that?

I know what you mean I studied like crazy also... The thing about the net is they only focus on your over all percentage and that your reading isn't below a 48. It seems you did really well on the math, if you take it again and score a 95 on math with a 48 in reading it will bring you up to a 71%. I was told by a woman who works in their office to be sure I score a 70%. I don't know if it is better to leave answers blank or to pick anything... the first time I took it I just left what I couldn't finish blank, and the second time when I knew I had 3 min. left I started to fill in anything for reading. I know with most exams you are told not to leave anything blank because you do have a shot at the right answer by guessing:idea:. Are you waiting for the spring acceptance?
yes, I applied for the BACC2. and I will love to be accepted for that but if not, i will take the BACC1.. i JUST need to change caREERS.. I went to college for Management Information Systems and that is just not working for getting a job anywhere.. not even an office job..I am tired of that and decided to look into a career that is more productive and secure..."Nursing" OF COURSE! so I hope I get accepted for either the BACC1 OR BACC2.
WHAT ABOUT you? which one did you applied for?

I applied for spring ,but its not looking to good . The school you applied to is St. Paul's? I left a job to go back to school... busted my butt for excellent grades/gpa, and I can't understand how an entrance exam determines if you could succeed in nursing. I know several people who did great on the entrance exams, were accepted, and failed out...(these exams DO NOT determine your ability or success in nursing school) I also applied to BMCC for fall 2010 they don't have an entrance exam they are all about gpa. Iam also concidering Cochran school of nursing their exam is the TEAS, but their appt. dosn't start until Feb. If it dosn't happen this time, TRY AGAIN... and don't give up. Are you going for Assoicates or BS?
I AM applying for University of Texas Health Sciences Center.. they have an accelerated program called BACC2 and a regular program BACC1 for people that already have an undergraduate degree. what school are you applying for?
St. Pauls school of nursing in New York for spring, but I applied to others for the fall...

Jsummer05, the bad news is that you need 70% on both the math and reading sections in order to get into UT HSC Houston. The good news is that yesterday was the last NET and they are going to use a different test from now on. You might have better luck with the other test (HESI or TEAS) next semester. There's also still time to apply to UTMB. Their application deadline is on Feb. 15, and they require the TEAS. I took both tests and dont know my scores on the NET to compare them. The TEAS seemed easier to me, and it was given on the computer, so it was much less stressful to me, offered immediate feedback, and I didn't have to sit stressing out when I finished sections in less than the allotted time. Good luck to you.
What school is UTMB? What was on the TEAS? I have taken the NLN before I don't know if the exams are similar. Have you received your scores for the TEAS and what is a good score anyway? Sorry so many questions.
I just realized you mean the school in Texas... I live in N.Y. so that won't work for me.
