Hello School Nurses!!
After a year of just reading, I've decided to stop being shy and to join in on the fun. I also want to thank you all for your posts, questions and humor!! I have so many questions and not a lot of places to turn to and ask. And a lot of my questions are usually posted on this forum, so thank you.
I'm a new (ish) RN and this is my second year working as a school nurse in a small private school. I love it but at times feel vulnerable and completely unsure if I did the right interventions or not. I over document and call parents a lot just to cover myself. I feel paranoid at times. I either have parents who are completely laid back and don't care about the bruise their child got at school or other parents who go crazy over not knowing every little detail. It's exhausting. And I'm a parent myself but I don't flip put when the school nurse calls me. But anyway, just wanted to say hi!! I'm sure I'll be back with questions. This is such a great resource!
