Textbook

Anyone have any experience with "Palliative Care Nursing: Quality Care at the End of Life" 3E? It has limited, but poor, reviews on Amazon for editing but I'm curious about content.

My BSN nursing elective was supposed to be a survey course but we just received an email stating that it would be Palliative Care and the above mentioned is our textbook.

Just curious if I should pick up a supplement if it's a bad text.

    I have it but I have the first edition and I only paid a few dollars for it so I would try and go that route. Some of the older books you can get for a penny plus shipping on amazon since they make money on the shipping not the book.

    It's almost put together as each chapter was a journal article with different authors for each.

    The hospice book I like is actually a review book for the HPNA certification exam.

    My book arrived today. The paper it is printed on is odd. It's matte finished and kind of flimsy. Each unit appears to begin with a case study of sorts and then the "articles" that make up the unit follow, each with their references at the end of the individual article.

    Haven't read any of the content yet, but it seems to be set up a bit differently than other textbooks I'm used to. It kind of reminds me of the Lange Medical Series in a way.

    Send it back and order a older copy. The printing on the older editions are ok and set up the same way though. I would not pay full price or anything over $5 for this book though.
