TEAS Version 5

Published

Has anyone taken the version 5 of the TEAS? If so, are there any tips you could give? The science area is what I'm most concerned about. I am taking the test on Feb. 8th. at Ivy Tech. Thank you!

I am taking the Teas on March 25th. I have a science tutor to assist me with a lot of the chemistry. How did the Teas go for you? Best of luck!

Hi Paula71,

The TEAS went well for me. I scored a 77.3% overall, I did better than I thought I would, but not as well as I would have liked. My school said that if I had a mid 80's on the TEAS, that I would have a good shot of getting accepted. So, I'm retaking it on March 15th. Best of luck to you too! :)

I just took it again yesterday after taking it for the first time in early January. I got a 75.3% this time verses 74% the first time. I studied the manual for several hours between the two and don't feel like I did much better. The lady that runs the testing center told me she can tell this version must be harder due to all the low scores. I have no idea what is a "good" score anymore. I'll just have to wait and see how the appliaction process goes and hope to be accepted. It's out of my control.

Best of luck to you both!!

Hey, I'm just curious if the test was the same both times. I'm considering retaking it for a better score as well.

No, they were not the same. There were some questions that were similar and may have been exactly the same but the majority of it was different and some of what I concentrated my studying on wasn't even there!

Kinda frustrating..........

My school requires you to be in the 90th percentile in all subject areas to be considered. That is at least what they required for the last Teas version, I'm not sure about this one. I think you can make yourself sick if you stress too much about it. I know I have no life as I'm sure the rest of you are in the same boat. I am studying hard to make sure I do well the first time so I can put this chapter behind me and move forward. It's hard to think about anything else.

They require you to be in the 90th percentile in all subject areas? Where are you going that they're getting to be that selective?

*EDIT*

Ohhhhhhh wait a second. I processed adjusted individual score per section instead of percentile per section. Woops.

Hey guys, so I finally took the teas and got a 84.3. I scored in the 95th percentile so that made me feel better about my score. I scored lowest in the science with a 73.2. I studied a lot and still felt like the science was tough! Also, I took micro last semester and was 10 wks into chem and adv. physio when I took the teas. I thought the science questions were more detailed than I expected. Good luck to everyone! The wait is on.
