Teas 6 study tips??

Published

Hey guys I'm new to this discussion board. I recently took the teas 6

Reading - 70.2

Math - 87.5

Science - 76.6

English - 58.3

Overall -74

I signed up a month before my first attempt and only studied the math and science portion with teas prep app.

Do you guys have any tips? I was also thinking about buying the ATI TEAS SmartPrep.

Is it worth it?

I have my last attempt in April and really want to boost my score up to at least an 85.

Check your results and see what areas you missed questions on. It should literally tell you exactly what you need to review. It will give you a good idea where to start.

You want to spend time on improving your skills in English because each questions is worth more to the overall section score. So, each question there is more important toward your total score.

Khan Academy is good for science and English review. Crash Course A&P is good for an overview of that. There's quite a bit of free online practice tests. You can also use free SAT reading resources to work on the reading portion since they're fairly similar.

I liked the Mometrix study guide. It gave much of the info you needed for the reading, English, and math portions. It gave you a good overview of the science.

Alright, thank you so much for the tips.

Hi!

I just took TEAS VI for the first time today and got a 90.7% and 99th percentile.

Here are my tips:

If you haven't taken an anatomy class....do it. Otherwise, learn on your own with an Anatomy phone app and make sure to include physiology. You have to know the body systems...PERIOD. The science was far more difficult than I anticipated.

The English focuses on sentence structure, comma usage and identifying parts of a sentence.

MY BIGGEST TIP?

Download and pay the $24.99 for the TEAS MASTERY app. I can't stress how important this was in helping me with the English/grammar. When I took the first practice test (I used the ATI TEAS Master Study Secrets by Momentrix and also purchased the ATI practice tests), my English was terrible which really surprised me. I made sure to focus on it with the TEAS Mastery app and it ended up being my second highest score of 91%. For Math, just practice a lot. I really recommend the ATI STUDY book (already mentioned) because of the practice test.

When it comes down to it, I practiced taking the 3 tests in the Momentrix study guide twice each and the ATI testing practice tests twice each. Each time, my scores improved. The highest score I got on the ATI practice test was the exact score I got on the proctored test.

No one can tell you specifically what to study for the TEAS VI because it changes. I talked to someone who had taken it recently and they told me not to worry about having to identify compound and complex sentence structure and for science the heart was heavily tested. You know what I found? There were several questions asking me to identify compound or complex sentence structure AND there was not a single question about the heart. The TEAS mastery app is one of the reasons I ignored the girl and continued to study it. You need to try to master everything is you want a high score.
