So I recently bought the TEAS V study manual, and I feel pretty comfortable with the reading, math, and English sections (I got most practice questions right in those sections). But the science section is what really scares me. I've heard that it's very random, and that there are a variety of questions that could appear on your test. I've heard some people say their science questions were very basic, and I've heard others say that they received science questions that weren't even covered in the study manual. How can I prepare for the science section? Will the manual help me at all? Should I use online websites to study?
I've taken anatomy and physiology 1 and 2, and will be taking microbiology this summer starting next week.

The manual is good for the reading english and math (the math on the test is a little harder than the study manual) . The math had a lot of long division and mutilplication problems with lots of decimals so make sure you can do those quickly ..and lots of percentage problems. Also I would know metric conversions and English system conversions such as yards feet cups pints ..stuff like that lol
For the science .. yes it is random but in a basic way if that makes sense. You won't know what questions but if they asked a question about the respiratory system or digestive system it is basic and if you took anatomy 1 and 2 it should not be difficult to figure out . I would look through any old notes you have from your anatomy classes and biology if you have taken that. For anatomy know all, the systems and know all the ferm layers such as ectoderm mesoderm and endoderm...For biology know about autotrophs heterotrophs..... dna rna ....mitosis...DNA replication ..enzymes and vitamins and how those 2 relate to each other ... PUNNET SQUARES ( know how to make one and read one and know heterozygous and homozygous traits) ..know the phases of interphase and what is produced in each phase ....for earth science know that the sun is really important lol and it has a lot to do with the chemical cycles of the earth such as the water cycle... it plays a big role in that cycle .... for chemistry you need to know how to balance equations and they give really simple ones that should not be too difficult ...know about protons electrons.. atomic mass.. atomic number
Know kinetic energy ..potential energy... Chemical energy (chemical energy is not in the manual) .you don't need to know the formulas you need to understand the basic concepts ...for example a roller coaster at the top of hill has potential energy and when it goes down the hill that energy turns into kinetic energy
Whoa I just realized this post is all over the place but I just kept typing as I thought of something lol
I hope this helps:)
The main point is the study manual does not really prepare you for the science section and looking through old notes from previous science courses would be helpful!
Grr it won't let me edit my last post ..but I meant germ layers not ferm lol and I meant to say that the manual gives you the basic topics that are covered but you need to go a little more in depth with each topic in case they throw you a curveball ... such as ...most people who have not taken anatomy don't realize that the pancreas is an endocrine and digestive system organ ...the exam is really not difficult and I wish you the best of luck :)
