TEAS 7 Exam

Hello Nurses does anyone have advice on how to identify the main idea in the reading section of the TEAS. I do fairly well on finding the topic sentence, but I need help on finding the main idea. Also some of the passages are so long I run out of time trying to read them. Does anyone know any shortcuts?
