what to take this fall and where?

Published

hello everybody

I need your advices please ...I am a mom of soon to be 2 kids ...in july to be exact and I decided that this fall I will start my prereq for the nursing program but I need to start with an easier class ...so what do you think between US History, US Government or Nutrition?

also I am planning taking them online ....I am in California ....

anybody has an idea where?

thanks

Laura

Is this your 1st time attending college? I was wondering if you had any other pre-req's behind you. What are your attendance requirements? I mean, can you just take one class, are you pay-as-you-go? The reason I ask, is I'm seeing many fellow students that have put off the hard courses to the end, which isn't a good idea. Math, for instance, often us adult students have to take 2 to 3 remedial math courses before the required College Algebra. Alot of students get stuck because there were so many pre-req's they didn't realize they needed to take BEFORE they could start on the nursing pre-req's. While I understand your family obligations & need to take an online course, I'd recommend finding out how you are on math & see if you should take a remedial online math course. You might need to get a Bio course under your belt also, before you can take A & P I. Have you met/consulted w/a counselor yet?

Ooops, I also forgot to mention that it's a good idea to take some of the critical courses as early as possible, in case they need to be repeated.

Are you going for BSN or ASN?

I'm in Maryland, so I don't know about Cali schools.

I was looking to start with an easy class just because I have a 2yr old son and I will have a one month old baby when I start a class in FALL

thank you

Well from your list it looks like you really do have your choice! I'd probably opt for the nutrition!!

I just took nutrition online through Yuba College (which is in Cali, and I know students register in the online classes there from all over the state). It was quite easy, even though it was an 8 week class during an already busy semester. You just have to be sure to keep up with the work.

thanks so much

I checked this college online and they dont offer none of these classes ....I might be doing a mistake can you help me please?

I forgot to ask you also if you took your exam online?

thanks

I'm in California also. I think of the courses you listed, Nutrition will be the easiest. A lot of it is just common sense and you can even take it online if your school offers it. The rest of it, you really need the class time for lecture. You're way ahead of me, I'm still working on pre-reqs that aren't even at your level, although I am taking NS 015 this summer.
