First time posting here, so feel free to point me in a direction that I may not have seen yet!
I have been working in psych for over 10 years now (all aspects: inpatient, community based, admin). I have really been feeling a pull to switch specialties. I've always been attracted to ED/trauma, but the thought of switching is a little intimidating. Have any of you made a move like this, and how did it go? I know there is orientation involved in a new department, but was it supportive to the acquisition of new skills/interventions not used for quite some time in the current field?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
